Nature and Children
Children learn best when then are fully immersed in the world around them and nature provides us with a unique opportunity to do just this! Research shows that children who play outside are happier, healthier and better able to focus.

What To Expect
Our activities are designed to keep children engaged. We focus on developing community and discovering the world around us. Each class during the 7-week session will consist of a play invitation, tailored to the current participants, that is designed to help us learn and explore together. At each class, we will play, explore and develop foundational skills that help us grow.
Adult participation is required.
We play rain or shine so dress accordingly!
Play is a Child’s Work
Studies show that children learn best through play, especially when they are given the space to do so on their own terms. Each of our activities provide opportunities for participants to explore and play as we learn together as a community.

P.A.W. Prints loves to encourage exploration and creativity. This picture was from a class in which we made nature recipes for our stuffed animal friends. I love this picture because of the freedom and creativity that it represents.

Kids are naturally inclined to explore and learn about the world around them. This was from a class that focused on exploring the world around us and being fully present in nature. The curiosity soared during this class!

One of the classes involved loose parts play, which is a form of play in which kids are provided a series of items that they can use to create whatever they can imagine. This kiddo used homemade nature putty and nature treasures she had found while exploring. It was a great exercise in focus and creativity!

We learned about pollination during one of our classes, this was a hands on activity to explore that further. It was a big hit with all the kiddos and helped further their learning on the topic.

At P.A.W. Prints, we love to encourage kiddos to think and explore and purposefully build Wonder activities into class. This was one such example in which we experimented with different liquids and solids to see what "potions" we could make up. It was a huge hit and really exercised focus muscles and problem solving skills.

One of our key values at Adventurous Life Initiative is Learning Together. Here a dad and his boys are showing off a bee hotel that they worked together to make during our pollination class. It is so awesome seeing kids learn alongside the special adults that bring them to class each week!

During class, we sometimes get to see our nature friends up close. We discovered this nest during one of our classes. We also got to meet a tree frog during another class. The kiddos loved "meeting" the nature friends we found during class.

Developing community is one of our core values at Adventurous Life Initiative and the P.A.W. Prints Program is the embodiment of this value. It has been amazing to see the community that has formed through this program! Everyone learning and playing together, a great opportunity to work on social skills but also a wonderful way to build up our "village" that we all need. It brings me so much joy to see relationships develop and grow!
Meet the teacher
Hello Friends! I am Quinn, owner of Adventurous Life Initiative as well as the teacher for the P.A.W. Prints Program. I am mom to an adventurous son as well. This has been a an idea that has been on my heart and I am so excited that it is finally happening! I wanted to give you an introduction of myself so that you would know who would be leading your class. I have 10+ years of experience working with children and helping them learn and grow. My background is in Child Development and Mental Health, which has given me the opportunity to work across multiple types of settings and with a wide range of ages. I started out working as a Behavior Health Specialist, helping parents/caregivers and their children develop skills and increase their connection with each other. Then I ventured into doing more family focused work in the form of family therapy as well as individual therapy with children. After that I found myself in Parks and Recreation, as an Inclusion Coordinator, where I got to help children with a various spectrum of unique learning differences participate in the programs offered by the parks and recreation district. It was probably one of my favorite jobs and what led me to jump into leading outdoor classes for children and I haven’t looked back since. Among all the varied experiences listed above, I have also worked in Early Childhood Education as well as a snowboard instructor for kids. I love teaching and I love the outdoors and I get to bring them both together! I cannot wait to meet you!
